From team-building opportunities, to sponsorship benefits, there are many ways your workplace can engage with the Bike Works mission & movement! Contact our Relationships Manger, Julie York, for more details or to get involved.
Hire the bikemobile
The BikeMobile is Bike Works’ mobile bike repair shop. In the summer, the BikeMobile employs youth apprentices from our Job Readiness Training and other youth programs and offers free and sliding scale bike repair services to youth and adults at parks and community centers. We also offer the BikeMobile’s services to companies and organizations for their Bike to Work Month activities, Earth Day, and to provide regular and convenient bike repair services to employees and visitors. The BikeMobile is staffed with professional mechanics and is outfitted to tackle most repairs.
host a bike education workshop
Are you interested in offering educational opportunities to get your employees more interested in cycling?
Bike Works offers workshops on:
- How to Buy a Bike
- Commuting Tips
- The Right Gear for the Right Weather
- Fix a Flat and Basic Bike Maintenance Demo
Host a Team-Building Workshop
We also offer a team-building bike-building workshop. Participate in a team bonding activity and assemble bikes as a team that are given away to youth in the community who would not otherwise have access to one through our bike giveaways!
sponsor programs & events
Bike valet & bike rack rental
Do you need bike parking for your next event? You can hire us or rent our bike racks to do it yourself.
host a bike drive
Like a clothing or a food drive, a Bike Drive collects used bikes for use in Bike Works programs. We are always in need of bikes in good condition, particularly 20-inch wheel BMX style bikes, 24- and 26-inch wheel mountain bikes, adult sized mountain bikes and road bikes of any size, but especially smaller road bikes. For more information on putting together a successful Bike Drive for Bike Works, consult our Bike Drive Guide or contact us.
We are always in need of groups of volunteers to help repair bikes and with other projects at the Recycle & Reuse Warehouse. Helping to fix bikes that are given away to members of the community is a great hands-on, philanthropic, team-building activity! All skill, experience, and confidence levels are welcome. Contact Julie York to discuss setting up a corporate work party, or organizing a group to drop in on our standing semi-weekly Volunteer Repair Parties.
