Shred and e-Cycle Event

A person taking boxes of paper to a shred bin

Our free Shred and eCycle Event is back! As part of BECU’s green sustainability initiative, we’re inviting members to clear their clutter and reduce their carbon footprint in an environmentally responsible way. Join our Shred Events in Tukwila, Federal Way, Everett or Spokane.

At each event, we’ll also collect cash, nonperishable food, clothing and small household items to support a nonprofit in your neighborhood.

All events will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and we’ll shred until the trucks are full.

Main Event Highlights

  • Bring up to three grocery bags or two banker boxes of sensitive documents for us to shred at no cost to you.
  • You may also bring old TVs, desktop computers, computer monitors, laptops and cellphones for safe disposal. A small recycle fee may apply to some electronic items including printers and VCRs.
  • Bring cash, nonperishable food, clothing or small household items to support neighbors in need. Neighborhood nonprofits will be on-site to collect your donations.
  • In collaboration with Bike Works, our Tukwila location will accept bike donations that will be refurbished for children and adults in need.

REI x Bike Works Bike Donation Event

Bring your spare bikes, parts, or accessories to your local REI store to donate to Bike Works, the Seattle non-profit promoting the bicycle as a vehicle for change. Bike Works diverts over 7,000 bikes from the landfill every year to support their youth and adult education programs, bike giveaways, and affordable bike shop in Seattle. Your old bike can make a difference to someone who needs it! Bike Works accepts all donations of bikes, parts, and accessories, regardless of value or condition. Donations are fully tax deductible. Don’t let that old bike in your garage continue to collect dust: put it to good use!
