Bikecitement! 2023: Life Cycle

“a theme celebrating growth and new beginnings”

Sunday, April 30th, 4 – 8 PM

THANK YOU to everyone who was able to join Bike Works on Sunday for the 21st annual Bikecitement! fundraising dinner. Your energy and participation made this event a joyous celebration of cycling and community.

We could not be more thrilled to announce that we beat our ambitious goal and raised over $154,000 through the “Fund-A-Future” portion of the event! With additional donations, ticket sales, sponsorships, raffle sales, dessert dash, and “Eds or Tails,” our fundraising total comes to more than $424,000 to support cycling access and education in South King County and beyond.

If you attended the event and have not yet filled out our short post-event survey, please help us learn for next year by filling it out!

Thank you to CB Bell for photographing the event, and to Michael B. Maine for filming. Check out our photo album from the event on the Bike Works Facebook page! Film clips coming soon our our YouTube Channel.

Thank you to Vitamin D + Drum Orbit for ending the night with a special concert, to the 35 staff and volunteers who worked hard to help the event run smoothly, to Rain City Catering for hosting and feeding us, to Georgetown Brewing & Eleven Winery for donating beverages, to Columbia City Bouquet for providing our live table centerpieces, to Christine DeCastro for auctioneering, to Monika Sharma & Zayneb Elfahmy for emceeing, and to Reagan Jackson from Young Women Empowered and Ed Ewing from Bike Works for reminding us why the generosity of our community matters.

And thank you to Bike Works Velomancer Mike Buendía for compiling the Bike Works Staff Mixtapes, an annual tradition where each staff member selects a song for each playlist, inspired by a theme. Find this year’s mixtapes on Spotify: Life CycleShower Ballads, and Songs to Bike to.

You can listen to inspiring words from Bike Works Executive Director Ed Ewing, and Bike Works program partner, Reagan Jackson of Young Women Empowered, in the videos below.
