BIKEMOBILE
From spring through fall, the BikeMobile travels around the Seattle area, primarily visiting areas designated as “bike deserts”, where bike shops are few and far between. All repair services performed by the BikeMobile are available for free or on a sliding scale. Most bike parts are offered at cost and we have used parts to fit almost any budget.
Because systemic racism and inequality denies resources to members of marginalized communities, the BikeMobile was created to increase access for:
- Youth
- People from low-income households
- Black, Indigenous, People of Color
- Women, Trans, non-binary individuals
- Immigrants and Refugees
- People experiencing homelessness
- People with disabilities
- People dependent on their bike for daily transportation
If you are able, payment can be accepted onsite, or please make a donation to support this vital community service.
In order to support our mission-based work, the BikeMobile is also available “for hire” for special events.

Thanks to the @thenorthface Explore Fund for partnering with Bike Works to expand our bike education programs. In 2015, with their support, we launched the #BikeMobile to offer summer apprenticeship opportunities for youth and bring free and low-cost bike repair services to Southeast Seattle communities.
During the pandemic, the BikeMobile has been crucial to helping us adapt our community services while our regular programs have been on hold. Since April, the BikeMobile has provided free bike repair to hundreds of youth and adults. We even launched a series of small-group in-person bike education clinics for youth out of the back of the BikeMobile! #ExploreFund #bikes4all
**Thanks to @merrillimages for taking these awesome pre-pandemic shots of the BikeMobile in action in the summer of 2017**
