Bike Rack Rentals

Bike Works partners with community events to help alleviate the congestion of cars and parking by renting out bike racks to local organizations, encouraging attendees to bike to their events.

Why is bike parking helpful and how do they work?

Valet bike parking is like a coat check for bicycles. The guests who arrive at your event by bike are issued claim tickets in exchange for their bikes and “valets” watch the bikes in a secure corral. Oftentimes the best big events take place in locations where there is minimal permanent bike parking provided and event organizers hope to encourage their guests to arrive by bike but are not sure how to provide adequate and safe parking for their guests’ bikes.

How many bikes does each rack hold?

Racks can be set up as one long 10′ pole, two “elbows” and four legs, or extended with a middle connector and two additional legs for a total of 6 legs per rack. If transporting 10′ long poles is an issue, shorter racks can be set up with 5′ poles instead. One 10′ bike rack can accommodate 10 bikes and is approximately 4′ wide.

Will Bike Works be able to help park and watch the bikes?

Unfortunately, Bike Works does not have the capacity and scheduling to staff your event. You will be responsible for staffing your own bike valet. They can use raffle-style tickets or coat check tags and give each bike owner a ticket that corresponds with a number taped to their bike for extra security. 

How much does the bike rack rental cost?

Bike rack rentals are $450 per use with sliding scales available.

When and where can I pick up the bike racks?

You can pick up and drop off the bike rack pieces during business hours at our shop at 3709 S Ferdinand St, Seattle, WA 98118. Our hours are 12 to 6 PM Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 11 AM to 5 PM Saturday-Sunday. The bike is closed on Wednesdays.
