Our Youth Ventures Bike Club expands our activities to keep youth involved at
BikeWorks after they have earned their bicycle. Youth have been mountain biking, BMX riding, building specialty "chopper" bikes, and
learning safety skills in bicycle rodeos. In 2002, youth chose their own name for the
bike club The Street Burners. Thank you to the Fremont
Public Association and JustServe AmeriCorps
for fu.eling Street Burners with a fulltime AmeriCorps volunteer since September 2001.

Neighborhood Rides
Participants young and old ride bikes together to celebrate their hard work,
enjoy bicycling, and practice safe riding skills. Bicycle safety workshops, or
"rodeos," are also taught at schools and community events. Bike Works keeps a fleet of bikes tuned
up to lend out to riders.
Bicycle Passports
Our Bicycle Passports get kids bicycling for transportation. Youth log the
miles they bike around town (outside of Bike Works) and win incentive prizes for every five miles,
with extra points for bringing along a relative or friend. Passports get kids
out of the mini-van and onto their bikes to get around town.
