 
RECYCLE & REUSE PROGRAM
Each year, Bike Works collects over 2,500 bicycles that we refurbish or recycle. About 95% of the bikes donated to Bike Works are returned to the community. Of these, approximately:
- 50% are sold in our shop, raising funds to support our programs
- 25% are sent internationally through programs like Village Bicycle Project and Bicycles for Humanity.
- 15% bikes are distributed to youth in our programs and through the Kids Bike Swap
- 10% are donated to local nonprofits
We harvest parts from the unusable bikes and responsibly recycle the remaining bicycles, or upcycle them through partnerships with businesses like Alchemy Goods and donations to artists. Overall, we divert an estimated 75,000 lbs. of bikes and bike parts from landfills. Please call with any questions: 206.725.9408, ext. 3.
